Questions for Individuals

What is Kaburst?
Kaburst is a social media networking system that creates personal connections between businesses, non-profits and consumers. Kaburst has a search engine specifically designed for you to connect with your favorite local businesses and organizations plus all others listed in the Kaburst system. Our system allows businesses and organizations to share information with you about what they have to offer - deals, upcoming events, daily specials, etc. Kaburst offers a way for businesses and organizations to send out information in real-time, directly to you via text messages and/or emails. Kaburst is completely free for you to use.

What is a Burst?
A “burst” is a deal or short message sent to you from your favorite local businesses or organizations, at their discretion. Bursts are no longer than 255 characters, so no lengthy emails with long written explanations are sent to you.

How Do I Receive a Burst?
Bursts can be sent to you via text message and/or email. These options can be set from the Personal Dashboard page at www.kaburst.com. Most importantly, bursts are only sent to you when you have checked-in to a business or location, so you will only receive them when you want to. Please note that standard text messaging rates apply.

What is an Check-In?
A check-in is your way of telling businesses and organizations in the area that you want to start receiving their bursts. This can be done from your computer, tablet, Smartphone, or any web-enabled device, and you can schedule your check-in to repeat as you desire. For example, if you like to eat out for dinner, you might want to schedule a check-in for weekday evenings at local restaurants to see their nightly specials. If preferred, you can check-in once, just to see what’s available in a certain area.

Does Kaburst have a Smartphone Application?
Kaburst is currently developing a phone application for users and it should be coming soon to your Smartphone. Kaburst will keep you up-to-date with its development plans.

How Can I Find Current Bursts?
If you click “Connect Locally” from the top of the Homepage page or from your Personal Dashboard, you can search for bursts. Simply select a specific mile radius and any business categories that interest you to begin looking for all related bursts in the area. Your search can be as broad or as specific as you like.

Why am I Not Receiving Email Bursts?
First, please make sure that your check-in settings are set as desired. Also, some email programs may send bursts to your Spam folder, so you may need to mark the burst emails as “Not Spam”. Contact support@kaburst.com if further help is needed.

Why am I Not Receiving Text Message Bursts?
First, please check to see if your inbox is full, as this could prevent you from receiving further text messages. Kaburst uses SMS text messages, so also check to see if your wireless plan allows for this service. If you do not have a wireless plan that allows for unlimited text messaging, you may want to consider disabling text message bursts. Contact support@kaburts.com if further help is needed.

Why Should I Add Favorites?
“Favorites” are the businesses and organizations that you visit most often and whose deals and information interest you. When you add a business to your Favorites, you will always receive their bursts when you check-in, regardless of what categories you choose. Adding a business to your Favorites will keep you informed about what is going on with that business.

What is a Konnect Code?
A Konnect Code is a short phrase created by each individual business or organization. A Konnect Code is a quick way for you to find a business, whether you want to add it to your Favorites, or search for its bursts. Simply ask the business/organization for its Konnect Code and enter the code in the space provided on the “Connect Locally” or “Add Favorites” page. This will bring up the Kaburst page for that specific business or organization.

How Do I Earn Points?
Points can be earned by referring your friends and other businesses to Kaburst. For each successful friend referral, you will earn 5 points, and for each successful business referral, you will earn 10 points. For every 100 points you earn, you will receive a $10 gift certificate to Amazon.com.

Is There a Limit to How Many Friends or Businesses I Can Refer?

Everything you receive from Kaburst is entirely at your discretion. Please view our full Privacy Policy for more complete details.

What if I Don’t Have the Time to Keep up With Kaburst Every Day?
Kaburst is a system that you can interact with as often or as little as you choose. If you do not wish to interact with Kaburst on a regular basis, you can simply schedule your desired check-ins and let the bursts come to you. On the other hand, Kaburst may also be used daily if you wish to search more frequently for new bursts, businesses and organizations.

How Do I Remove a Business From My Favorites?
Once you log onto your Kaburst account, click “My Favorites” on the left hand menu. This will direct you to a list of your Favorite organizations and businesses. Click “Delete” next to the business/organization that you wish to remove from your Favorites.

How is Kaburst Different From Other Deal-of-the-Day or Coupon Websites?
Kaburst is entirely separate from typical Deal-of-the-Day or Coupon Websites. One of the biggest differences is that all of the information on Kaburst can come directly to you, rather than having you go to the information. Also, Kaburst offers you a variety of information from different businesses and organizations throughout the day, whereas you only receive one deal per day from other sites.

How long do I Have to Use a Deal Once I’ve Received it in a Burst?
Kaburst leaves the duration and details of bursts under the control of the business or organization sending them out. Please be sure to read each burst carefully for specific details.
